a sudden realization [03 Feb 2008|02:47am]
so i was watching air force one tonight. great movie. i now have a new criteria for president, and barack is the only one who fufills it. which is why barack is the only one i want to vote for.

basically, theres that scene where the pilot of the f14 throws himself in front of the missile to save the president. he was just doing his duty, but i was wondering if he was like, "man, what a shitty way to die."

my new criteria is if you had to throw yourself in front of a bullet for this candidate, would you do it willingly? granted, i would do it for most people as a matter of general principle, but there are people id feel pissed off that i had to do it for.

for example, giuliani. while im sure that it would be nice to have the phrase 9 and 11 invoked in my funeral (as i have to assume that a) im dying here and b) the candidate is nice enough to go to my funeral.) oh wait no it wouldnt. giuliani is a douche bag.

hillary would turn my funeral into a campaign event. which is not what my funeral should be about.

mccain - thats a good question. i need to look into him more before i evaluate what he would do.

romney- please, the guy quoted who let the dogs out to some black kids and told a mom her kid "had some bling on him." if i wanted the 1950s in my funeral, i have a grandfather i can get to talk about them then. until then, guy smiley can go screw himself.

huckabee- well, while the religious right scare me, huckabee is different somehow. mainly because no one wants him in.

barack - ah, barack. like i said, i like barack. i think of all the candidates, he would be the awesomest at the funeral. hed be a good person who would respect my wishes and not turn my funeral into a campaign event.

i got a fever, and the only prescription is more obama.

yoinked from jfargo [18 Dec 2007|12:16pm]
I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common, and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me, and I thank you for your interest in my words.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they enjoy the savory aroma of monkey brains a la mode."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

Go forth and do.

And if you've actually posted this yourself, link to it here so that I can reply to you.

i want a cigarette because i'm a hippie [14 Oct 2007|03:25am]
weird title, yeah i know. i dont actually want a cigarette. what i actually want is...information.

i just finished hearts in atlantis again, and its one of my favorite books. every time i read it though, i go through a period of sadness. usually just a day, but it still happens. ill be fine tomorrow, but now? im confused and sad and scared for my life and future.

i'm not summarizing the book for you. go to wikipedia for that. but the premise is that king seems to feel that his generation wasted the chances they had to make something of the world. they chose to drop in and then drop out of life, at that time, and that has continued to the present day. i'm worried that its gonna happen to me and mine as well. none of us care about the war (though the point king seems to make is that no one could do anything about the war, and that the whole thing was fucked up.) none of us care about anything real. we had it as children, but then we lost our chances at taking charge and making the world a better place. its all burning, we're doing nothing, and im fucking rambling.

the reason i claim to want a cigarette is that the damn things are supposed to relax me, and maybe i could get some sort of understanding from the damn thing. like why we went to vietnam. and why we're in iraq. and why life isn't that perfect thing we were all lied to about. and why peace and love can't get us all the information we need to go on with our lives. because that's what it should all be about, right? peace and love?

fuck it im rambling. i came wanting information, and i dont even know what information is anymore. my best guess is that peace and love give us the only truth in this world, the only information that is actually real. the rest of the world is lying to us, everyone in it. its only with peace and love that we can see people and things as they really are. and thats my information to you. and why i want a cigarette.

a long post about baseball that no one will care about [16 Aug 2007|01:51am]
so i'm gonna say something controversial here, and if you don't like it, just acknowledge i'm right and move on. or, feel free to justify your opinion that i'm wrong.

here's the thing: there is no fucking reason to root for boston over the yankees. in fact, i may even say, start cheering against boston.

john, you may say to me, you're nuts. boston is the team of the people, the yankees are just evil. well, i hate to say it (no i dont) but youre wrong. boston is just as much a team of the people as the yankees.

let's start with the irrational yankee hatred. yes, they're too good for their own good, but that's because they have money. money makes the world go round. new yorkers are willing to go to yankee games, no matter how bad the team is, so the team makes money. more on this later. don't be mad the yankees have better players than the sox or cubs. if you would stick by your team you would have money too, to spend on better players. but having more money is no reason to hate them. so they've won more championships? the only person that matters to is yankee fans. let me ask you a question. in 1985, what was the major sporting event of the year? chicago fans will tell you, "the bears won the fucking super bowl!" and who won it the next 21 years? no one cares. because the bears won. who won the super bowl two years ago (we're not mentioning last year's manning suckitude). no one remembers. same thing with the world series.

you say the yankees also make the playoffs all the damn time, so we should root against them. you know who else made the playoffs for the last 14 years, but missed it last year? atlanta. you know hates atlanta? my old roommate the mets fan. thats right, the mets. you dont like the yankees, go root for the mets. dont waste your time hating a team that really doesnt matter.

but onwards to the real meat of the article: why you should not cheer for boston. let's look at their history: 86 years of mediocrity, when suddenly they beat the yankees and become the savior of the east. then boston got all "we're the best city in the world!!!1one." yeah, except NO. lets look at the boston teams:

hockey: this is a sport? whatever, sea pig.
soccer: no one cares about soccer. next!
Basketball: yeah, the celtics were good once. then the bulls came along. note to boston: MJ >> Bird. your team is not that good anymore, so don't pretend.
Football: the patriots are shared by all new england, which really means boston and four guys in maine. i will acknowledge that tom brady can make great teams from absolute shit. that doesnt mean the rest of the country cares that much about him. in fact, who made it into the super bowl last year and who didnt? thats right, the patriots suck. they're also not america's team. in fact, just to go off on a side note, the whole new england patriotism team name thing is pretty stupid, considering 90 per cent of that region wants us out of iraq. i suggest the irish wifebeaters.
baseball: ah the point of this article. let's get back to that point.

so we have established that boston aint that great. but why should we root against the red sox? theyre nothign like the yankees. once agian, wrong. the top three teams in income are in sequential order: yankees, red sox, cubs. you hate the yankees because they have so much money, and people always think they have a chance. white sox fans hate the cubs for the same reason. by the transitive property, you should hate boston for the same reason. they always have a chance, apparently, and they have money. how much money? enough to spend 50 million to TALK to a pitcher. not sign, just talk to. thats not blue collar, boston, no matter how much you pretend to. your fans are just as much of yuppies as are. we at least acknowledge it. and they want us to believe that they're nothing like the yankees? and they should be entitled to root for them, because they hate the yankees so much?

no. there is no entitlement for rooting against the yankees. join the fucking line. we're not happy you are beating the yankees. in fact, as ive grown to discover this season, any serious baseball fan hates EVERY OTHER TEAM IN THE LEAGUE. i can like AL teams until the world series. i can no longer like NL teams, especially after watching them beat the cubs. the entire city of cincinatti can blow me, btw. as can milwalkee, and saint louis. i hate those cities, with more added daily. (if we sweep you, i feel less hatred. but there still exists some for the runs you scored on my pitchers). so the entire AL hates the yankees, and boston for that matter. every game either team wins takes away a spot for another team in the wild card. so everyone hates them.

lets look at some other issues. lets start with the media. right now, colorado is just as many games back in their division as the yankees are from boston. does anyone notice? no. because its not the east, no one cares. my friend jack had cable for the spring. almost every night there was a baseball game on espn. every single day was
a boston game or a yankee game. theres really not that many fans of these teams out there. people root for other teams, you know. but thats the media. lets look at the red sox portrayal in media. we all remember jimmy fallon's character from those snl sketches where he would chant nomah. world shattering revelation: nomar is pretty fucking average. hes been traded so many times, and has been shoved into different positions to make way for talented prospects. in short, not worth the money or the time. there was also that jimmy fallon movie about the red sox (why does jimmy fallon suck at everything?) it was an amusing movie, but had it not been a romantic comedy, no one would have cared. also, when they allowed jimmy fallon and drew barrymore onto the field to film that, barring certain fans from entering? yeah, thats called bullshit. fans first, guys. fans first. if that hadnt been a romantic comedy, it would have been pointless. the baseball scenes were remarkably terrible, as was every person in that movie. oh, look, jimmy fallon is sinking further into depression by watching shit happen to his team! try watching the cubs for the last 100 years, ass.

lets move on, before this becomes bitch about jimmy fallon day. (thats another article, longer than this one). lets move on to the ballpark itself. fenway is a fucking eyesore. who puts a wall up in their outfield? no one, because its the dumbest idea ever. a fucking wall doesnt help your shitty defensive abilities, it just makes you a dick. its pointless to have, and should be torn down. no other ballpark has the damn wall, its clearly not a fair way to play.

lets complain about the team now. first off, i would like to point out that there is no one on boston who couldnt be replaced by about 5 better players at the position. (exception - david ortiz. i will give you that ortiz is good.) everyone else - not that great. remember how gyroball matsuzaka was gonna be the savior of boston, with his under 2 ERA and 300 K's? yeah. didnt happen. also, its kinda hard to lose games when youve got good run support from your team. i will give you that boston gets a lot of players on base, and they get batted in. that being said, schilling istn taht good a pitcher. number of no hitters thrown by curt schilling? 0. number thrown by mark buehrle? 1. thus, buerhle > schilling. seriously, though, every player on that team is replaceable. you can make that argument about any team, though. that still doesnt give boston the right to keep saying theyre the greatest team ever. i mean, when you have shlubs like willy mo pena and JD drew playing for you, you dont have the greatest team ever. for that matter, naming great old players doesnt make me care more. so you had ted williams, BFD. you also had a guy named babe ruth, who you fucking traded away. thats just stupidity. of all the dumb thigns to do to get cursed, trading away ruth takes the cake. ours just involved a goat of some sort. we dont care about your history, as no one cares about any other team's history. do people care about the history of the orioles? no. why not? because they dont cheer for the orioles. we dont care, stop bothering us. i was also recently informed that apparently boston was the last team to sign a black player. way to be, crackers.

in essence, boston doesnt deserve to be cheered for. i'd like to, as my final point, state that in the last 86 years, florida has more championship rings than boston. and they have a player on the team who was arrested for striking a cop. baltimore has a guy who's leading the league in strikeouts. root for these teams in the east, if youre going to. Boston sucks!

Leave a comment and I'll give you a letter; then you have to list 10 things you like starting with that letter. Post them in your journal and give out new letters to your commenters in turn.

Eric done gave me the letter M. im assuming im not allowed to use movies or music, so here we go. my list also goes up to 11. and theres a 12th bonus.

1) Muppets - because they cool and funny. and a source of some of the best one liners ever. "bear left." "frog right."
2) Monty Python - because humor in this world is good. especially the absurd kind. snl and mad tv came from this, as has a lot of humor.
3) Moore, Christopher - ditto for number 2, and one of the best authors i've read in a while. he writes books that make me lol, literally.
4) Mutant Ninja Turtles - did i mention i might get some tmnt weapons as a tattoo? still not sure about it though.
5) Magic - cough cough i am a nerd cough cough
6) The Mon Calimari - because without them, the line "It's a trap" wouldnt mean as much to us all as it does now.
7) Monkeys - monkeys are nice. chimpanzees too.
8) how i Met your Mother - one of my top five shows of all time. the plots just stand up so well, and the humor makes me smile every time.
9) Matt Parkman - my number 1 show of all time, i gotta say. plus parkman is cool. he can read minds!
10) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - andy introduced me to this anime, which is actually really funny, in that weird anime way.
11) Mechanical Engineering - i'm on fire, and now i think i'm ready to bust a move....the future freaks me out.
12) Kiera Knightley - because i can't make a list of thigns i like without including her in it.

who wants next?

emo bleakness

so in recent weeks, i've just been getting sick of it. everything is just so pointless and hard to deal with. i've tried listening, but i just have to stop. it makes me want to cry with how awful things are. i mean, the voice i hear just sounds so pissed at the world and sad with life. i wish i could just skip this, and just go to something better, something more fun. i want to rock, i want to roll, but i can't. i'm stuck trying this, and its just starting to piss me off at how pointless it all appears. maybe i should just end it, and move on. but i can't bring myself to make it stop, as i don't want to fully give up on it, for fear that maybe it'll get good at some point in time. not bloody likely. sometimes it just seems so pointless, but then brian pops up, and its worth it. it takes a lot of time to get there tho, so maybe i should just quit. right now. i wouldnt miss it....much?

he's also not that funny on multiple times listening to him. when i first heard him, he was pretty cool. now, he just seems pointless and dumb. jim is a lot funnier than him, yet i don't think he gets enough credit. lewis and bill are amazing, and yet no, everyone likes him. what is wrong with everyone? he's a one trick guy. i'm sadly growing sick of him, just because he's too popular now. i might have to just not hang out with him for a while. maybe then he'll get good again. when i used to hear some of his stories, he was really good. now, its just the same jokes over and over. get a new routine, man! then again, maybe its just because i've been hanging with him for so long. i dunno, man....

oh, by the way. i wasnt talking suicide or depression or anything. paragraph one was about that "crazy" band something corporate, and brian is brian johnson of ac/dc. paragraph 2 is dane cook. jim is in reference to gaffigan and his manatees, lewis black and his anger, and bill hicks, who has an amazing rant about not listening to sucky music. just thought i should share those thoughts before someone gets all worried and scared for me. life is going along, but i promised my friend dan a weepy and emo entry. so he gets this instead. take that world! and always remember to continue rockin.

so, after several weeks off, i'm getting back into running. i may just do twice a week, but i would like to increase that to 3 times a week in spring quarter and then summer. however, i have encountered a problem. when i'm running, i need music. and that music has to pump me up. what i normally listen to is the following cd.

so long astoria by the ataris
fire your guns by ac/dc
i like to move it by bang gang
wild in the streets by bon jovi
hateful by the clash
ten speed by coheed and cambria
little less conversation by elvis remixed with jxl
screaming at the wailing wall by flogging molly
get ready to rokk by freezepop
basket case by green day
call and answer by hellogoodbye
crawling in the dark by hoobastank
any way you want it (live) by journey
danger zone by kenny loggins
hey driver by lucky boys confusion
beat it by michael jackson
dead! by my chemical romance
i wanna be sedated by the ramones
come on eileen by save ferris (its a cover)
kick some ass by stroke 9
all of this by shaimus
fell in love with a girl by white stripes
believe by yellowcard

can anyone add any songs that they think are good, or tell me which ones they think are bad to run to? for song suggestions, i'm looking for hard pounding beats, or a fast speed. something i can match my pace with. ideas i'm considering, but not too sure about include thunderstruck by ac/dc, so lonely by the police, or some songs by the who (won't get fooled again, who are you, pinball wizard). also, sweet child o mine, hot topic is not punk rock by MC Lars, and 1985 by bowling for soup. any thoughts?

things that sadden me [11 Feb 2007|01:47am]
so im a liberal. thats kinda obvious, as i care about the little guy. that being said, some important things liberalism has not realized:

standing up for your beliefs and self does not make you a terrorist, no matter what anyone says.
if you have a better idea, fucking say it! so you look like a douchebag, big freakin deal if youre right.

lastly, pick your battles. i am so sick to fucking death of people on my campus whining about things. i realize, yes, first amendment and all that crap, but i don't care. the following are examples of this:

kick coke off campus: waste of time. yes, im sure coke treats their employees horribly. what multinational corporation doesnt? that doesnt mean you get to tell me what i can and can't drink. its like forcing me to be vegetarian just because you respect animals. by that same logic, you shouldnt use products from any corporation that harms its workers, and doesnt pay them a decent wage. i realize its a shitty way to look at things, but i cant think of a better solution. needless to say, i dont drink pop as a general rule, just because i dont like the taste too much slash it makes you fat. that being said, i miss root beer. lastly, coke aint gonna notice the missing revenue from the u of c campus. now, you get a city wide boycott going, ill be impressed.

point number 2. the divestment from darfur campaign. for anyone that doesnt know, darfur is in the sudan, and experiencing horrid genocide. people are dying all the time over there, and no one has really done anything to stop it. when it was first happening (really when i first heard about it), i admit i did some stuff. signed a letter or two, added my name to a petition, etc. that being said, nothing happened. now, we have more kids trying to get the university to remove all its funding from companies that fund darfur's government. they staged a protest on the quads on friday to get everyone to notice that the university didnt remove its funding.

perhaps its me, but my first thought upon hearing about genocide is to go stop it. if youre that fucking concerned, why arent you writing letters to your congressman daily? and if you are, why arent you writing to the school administration? if youre doing that, good for you. but heres the problem. no one cares.

you know why no one cares? and this isnt me being racist, this is the country. (please note that i actually care about this issue, but ive tried what i can, and homework is kinda pressing on me). the country doesnt care about darfur because its in africa. no one in this country gives a fuck about the rest of the world. 33 percent cant tell where iraq is. IRAQ!!! and you know why? because its not populated by english speaking white people. lets look at our history as a nation: black hawk down: invasion (somalia? yes? europe.) rwandan genocide: who cares. slobodan milosovic: invasion. darfur? who cares. huge earthquake on christmas in india? meh. pass the funnies. america was attacked? by foreigners! oh shit!

in short, wee america. id like us to care about everyone and for the world to be puppies and rainbows. sadly aint gonna happen. the best we can hope for is treat others and all that jazz. lets hope it works out for us. i doubt it will, but we can hope.

lastly, the politics section is gonna end in lent, as im giving up politics for lent. which is saddening, but i should hopefully get more work done then. let's see what happens. anyone else's thoughts on this? the liberalism thing, not the politics giving up.

heroes SPOILERS 2 [08 Feb 2007|05:45am]
i must say that it becomes easy to post heroes things at 5:45 in the morning when one hasn't slept slash has just finished his lab. please forgive all spelling errors, as once again, i havent slept.

once again, SPOILERS in here.

so we finally saw who claire's dad was. this brought to mind three things upon learning that.
1) does peter's power only stay with him from family? or has he figured it out like the british guy said?
2) this means nathan is a lot older than i pegged him as. i'm not sure what the age requirements are for mayor of nyc, but im guessing hes at least 35 or so now. which i think makes peter 29 (hasnt this been mentioned, him being just about to hit 30 slash just hit it?).
3) see the end

the answers to the first one, in my opinion, are probably not. i think it would get kinda dumb if he could only fly, and heal. i mean, yes it would be cool, but i think the whole absorbing the powers with his brain! are cooler. but thats me. did anyone else notice that after british boy (someone gimme a better name) shoved him off the balcony, he said "well, looks like you cleared your mind." but with the accent, it sounds like CLAIRED your mind. ahhhhh....

also, courtesy of wil wheaton, did anyone else notice that hiro's dad's car's license plate was ncc-1701? cause thats awesome. the one thing i was wishing for was for george takei to go "oh, my" during the show. maybe in a future episode or so. oh, ando. youre so awkward around girls. the interesting question is how the hell are the two of them gonna get home from wherever they are...

i definitely felt for mr. bennet this week, as i can sort of see why he's doing what he is. he just wants to keep his family safe, and he realizes that sylar is trying to stop that. kinda like a mafia don, if you will. same amount of power to. and he did raise claire, making him her godfather as well as her father. hmm. maybe im thinking too much. i definitely saw the haitian not happy that he had to wipe claire's mom's mind, but he did it anyway.

oh, niki. niki, niki, niki. good luck getting out. you know what i bet'll happen? i bet she'll use her strength to take over jessica, and there will be some sort of sisterly reunion or something where jessica says i just wanted you to be strong, like i tried to be. then niki will be herself, with lots of strength when she wants to use it.

maybe it was me, but why didnt peter keep watching his gf to see if she actually kisses isaac? excuse me if im wrong, but hugging someone isnt cheating. crazy....

why don't we get to find out bennet's first name? could it be linderman? as apparently malcom mcdowell has been cast in the role, i doubt it. but i bet its something interesting. possibly bill. and the reason i say that, is because the people with the alliteration seem to go evil. im basing this on sylar (gabriel grey) but you never know.

scenes from next week: niki throwing matt out a window, mohinder working with sylar. oh mohinder! what are you doing buddy? don't work with him! he's evil! niki! what are you doing? matt can read your thoughts! oh, that explains why shes doing it.

reading the comics, apparently ted sprague and hana AKA wireless are teaming up to bring down bennet, but thanks to my contacts in primatech they dont want to utilize sylar. so, thatll be interesting.

eric seemed to be the most right, i gotta say, saying that claire was gonna meet up with the petrellis, and how he retains the powers and all. though bryan did say that she was gonna flee to peter, her uncle.

final thought - third thing that came to mind upon learning who was the father - can nathan ever keep it in his pants?

saturday brain dump

so i got into wisconsin for grad school. but they sent the acceptance in a little envelope. Double you. Tea. Eff. But i might end up there, so we'll see what happens.

if al gore wins the nobel prize and runs for president, it would be like the bartlett administration, only with less leo and josh. who would be the new leo and josh though?

i finished He's Just Not That Into You. Very good book, and made me realize a few things. such as that if i dont actively show interest, thats bad. i think i can manage.

also finished Jim Belushi's book. Really funny advice book for guys. It details a lot of tips for life, especially relationships. pretty funny, and several good points in there.

Read fantasyland. things i cannot believe: he got david ortiz for 16 bucks? and then traded him away for alfonso soriano? and he got alex rios too! is it baseball season yet?

Last book thing, reading Invincible. Very good comic series, i recommend it a lot.

i need to get some bill hicks stand up stuff. funny man, but also makes you think.

heroes thoughts (SPOILERS)

(UPDATED!!!)

so obviously, there will be spoilers within. i may try to do this weekly, but we'll see what happens. im assuming if youre reading this youve either seen this weeks heroes or you dont care about spoilers.

anyway, my conscience is clear, so lets discuss. as we all saw this past week, claire called her mom. and she can light herself on fire! when i saw that, i definitely sat up and screamed "whoa!" cause i did not see that one coming. i havent read anything about future episodes yet, but this makes me wonder who claire's dad is. apparently he gets revealed next episode. my thoughts? mr bennet, who had an affair, niki/jessica's father with the same, or linderman. if it ends up being niki's dad, that seems like crappy writing, but could explain why they both have powers. linderman would make things interesting, as im relatively sure that he is the one behind all the problems in the series. sylar is his pawn, methinks. but if its mr bennet? why that forces claires hand, and off she will run to new york. she wont be able to stay in texas, for fear that her dad will mind wipe her. alternatively, her father could be someone new, or not really used, like ted sprague, or isaac. but i doubt it.

the other interesting thing about claire's mom having powers is that we can now see genetics happening. her mother had powers, so claire has powers. micah's parents have powers, so he has powers. (i believe that the theft scenario was a set up for micah to go evil, or at the very least struggle with good and evil. whats more heartbreaking for a parent than watchign their kid go evil?) this could mean that many more characters ahve powers than we thought possible. the most noticeable two? mrs. petrelli, (their mom) and hiro's dad (george takei). im not sure what or even if theyll get powers, but i think they will.

moving on to hiro, i think linderman wont give him the sword. he may have to steal it to get it, and the only way he'll be able to steal it? using his powers of course. will it work? wont it? who knows whatll happen.

i also dont think that peter is gonna blow new york sky high. hes the voice of reason in the petrelli family, contrary to it being nathan. nathan is trying to contain everything and hide the truth, while peter is trying to show the world. for him to blow up new york, he would need to be in the presence of ted sprague, i think. and maybe sylar. invisi-joe seems sneaky, and im not sure if hes on the up and up. possibly could be working for linderman? why else would he be laughing in the dream peter has?

i bet that claire and that one kid, whos name ive totally forgotten are gonna get together. that may also prompt her to leave home, since we see her in new york in the dream, which im betting will end the season with everyone there. this should be an interesting season.

people im betting who will die by season's end
ando-useful friend, but kinda useless. may accept the offer to go back to japan.
isaac-hes not used all that often, though his ability is pretty sweet. his last gasp will be to finish a painting of the future as a message. possibly with his blood. it will also show hiro that once agian, things cant be changed.
niki-shes good, and a good actress, but her death may set things in motion, like forcing dl to deal with his past and making micah evil.
sylar-hes evil, but not on often enough for him to be a several season villain. then again, who would have said that about spike? him dying may stop peter's explosion, but how would they kill him?

people i bet will live by season's end
hiro-youd kill the fan favorite?
claire-the other fan favorite? plus shes died once and came back to life already. she has more to offer, otherwise why would "save the cheerleader, save the world" be there?
micah-you cant kill a kid on tv, unless you can show the kids the next hitler (see buffy as proof). may go evil as a result of niki's death.
matt-represents the everyman in us, who keeps screwing up things yet is still able to barely hold on. he'll live another season.

thoughts?

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
and i just found out who's playing linderman this season. apparently he left fantasy island and a crazy russian polyglot mob in order to enter a nexus, only to become a mob boss in the desert. thats right, its Malcom McDowell!!! squee!

you know who i hate? the colts.

the entire team just sucks. i mean, name me one redeeming quality about it. they're like a crappy little brother of the bears, always trying to play along.
hey guys, can i play too?
no indiana, youre too small.
but ill tell mom!
fine, fine, you can have a football team.
brr, its cold here, let me be in a dome.
we dont need a dome, what do you need a dome for?
its cold here! whine whine!
you know, in chicago we play in the cold. our linebacker could also eat your quarterback for breakfast.
mom! their linebacker is threatening me! tell me im better than him!
(thousands of sportswriters tell indiana that hes awesome and that his quarterback is top notch, ignoring his ability to crumble under pressure many times. granted, chicago has grossman, but i never said our qb was good.)
hah, see! mom likes me best!
right. you believe that. mean time, im gonna go back and hang out with my original fans. the peopel of chicago. you know we've never moved, right?
well, we havent moved since...
you got the hell outta baltimore and pissed off a bunch of fans? the fans who clamored for your reinstatement after your crappy team folded from lack of funds?
well, we...we...we drafted john elway!
you know he refused to play for you and chose baseball instead of playing for the colts?
we have tony dungy!
he hates gay people, as he apparently is working with a group much like focus on the family. also, ditka. and lovey smith, who has not lost faith in his players.
peyton manning?
supported george w bush in the election. gave him 1000 bucks too. plus, you guys couldnt make it to superbowl with him. we made it to the playoffs with kyle orton. and then we did it the next year with rex grossman.
johnny unitas?
was so pissed off about the move to indy that he tried to get his stuff pulled from the hall of fame unless it said baltimore colts. the nfl refused to allow him to be honored by anyone other than the ravens. burn.
whatever, our rivalry with the patriots is the most heated in OW!
when you say stupid things, i get to hit you. first off, lemme say that us and green bay is more heated than anything you have ever done. EVERYONE hates the patriots. theyre not the underdogs, the fan favorites, or anything. they have won too many superbowls for anyone to like them. second, whens the last time you saw an indianapolis coach flick off a patriots coach as he walked off the field. ditka did that. has the indy coach ever gotten the patriots expelled from the league for trying to sign a player, then allowed them back in after the bears had signed him? halas did that. our teams have been around a lot longer than you third rate lawn jockeys. third, have you even seen the oakland raiders and the niners? they will break you.
mom!
dear, dont demean your little brother.
youre gonna pay, creep. i hope peyton manning has insurance.
mom!
dear, dont threaten him either.

in conclusion, colts < bears

[ music | death or glory by the clash ]

so i know half of my friends list hates my democraticism, but thats what this is about. HOWEVER, im open to new ideas from everyone. within reason.

im not voting republican, so thats out. but we are talking 2008, as ive had a few ideas on my mind for about a week. so it looks like the 2008 candidates are:

clinton
obama
edwards
brownback

these are the confirmed ones. there could be others, namely one man. the man who i feel could lead us to the promised land of happiness and less fuckupery.

al gore.

the first part of this post will be about the four confirmed candidates.

sam brownback, who i know nothing about, is governor of new mexico. now, my sources, if you will, (because by sources i mean the lib websites i read) tell me that new mexico is drafting plans to impeach doofus and darth, which could be slightly problematic. yes, it would be awesome for them to be out, but people are gonna connect bad things with the impeachment. even if the country hates them both. so, im not sure. also, i know nothing about the guy.

edwards seemed like a good guy in the 2004 campaign. however, he had one debate and i didnt hear him speak anywhere else. kinda wish i had, but oh well. i hear he likes his wife a lot, which is nice. however, the republicans will throw out the ambulance chaser thing at him the entire time. i know people who didnt vote for kerry edwards because their parents were doctors, and edwards was trying to screw them over or something. (i didnt really pay attention, as the legislation didnt concern me. that being said, no child left behind was almost more of a travesty than iraq. it still is, for that matter.) but i dont know much about him either.

clinton. i will NOT vote clinton. i don't care if its her versus john mccain, patron satan of arizona and republicanism. shes a decent first lady. shes probably an okay senator. that being said, i DO NOT LIKE what she stands for. 60 percent of america wants out of iraq. she wants to stay the course. shes like a joe lieberman with the cojones to criticize the president. and not that well, either. she voted for the no flag burning amendment. she tried to legislate what video games i can and cannot buy, what games can and cannot be made. i cannot in good conscience vote for her. call it just a case of hating the idea of a female president if you want, i cant do it.

obama. ah, obama, my shining star, my hope, my plan for the future. i want him in there. i would give up a finger to have him in there. not a major one, but still, a whole finger. id be that kid everyone would call "nine" just to elect him. he believes in america and helping everyone. i could throw out policy stuff, but its all nice. he has no iraq war vote to defend, which is nice. he has said some things in the past about staying for 6 months and then getting out after that, but i think hes generally a good guy. if he gets the nomination, i will give 50 dollars to his campaign. there is no other declared candidate that i would do this for. i think the reason is that obama is the most likely person to be able to patch up some things with the rest of the world.

now gore. gore, gore, gore. oh, i want him in there. i really do. gore can win it. hes funny, hes smart, if he runs on the environment and fixing iraq he is in. he doesnt even need to have other issues, he can win on those. everyone saw inconvenient truth, and everyone saw him as likeable in it. he could take down any other candidate on this list, just by saying hes entering the race. if gore announced he was running, itd be like that scene in the three musketeers where all the musketeers were in hiding, and then kiefer sutherland yells out "save the king!" and they all attack and win. thats what will happen if gore runs. itll basically amount to every single democrat activist jumping up and saying, yes, ill help. what bad things can be tied to gore? hes standoffish? see I.T. hes too smart? see I.T., realize weve had 8 years of an idiot behind the wheel and look where its gotten us. hes not experienced enough? punch you in the face. gore can do it. if there is a gore ticket, especially a gore obama ticket, i will give 50 dollars and convince everyone i can to vote it.

anyway, those are my thoughts on the subject. yes i have a year, but i think at the oscars this year, if he wins best picture, gore may make an announcement. then again, he could wait until next year, so his momentum doesnt decrease in the meantime. if anyone has thoughts on the candidates theyd like to contribute, please feel free. if someone wants to wax poetic on republican candidates, go ahead. but im still voting for gore.
